Halloween is just around the corner, and I've been trying to watch scary movies in preparation (okay okay, I just wanted to watch them <3) But sadly I've realized that there are like... no good ones anymore x.x I mean... like none. I haven't seen a good one come out in YEARS.

So.

Your mission if you choose to accept it - recommend a good one to me. ^^ If I actually get scared from it I will write you a one shot fanfic, fandom of your choice.

Have you watched The Orphanage (spanish version, i heard the english remake sucked)?

I won't exactly call it scary but it made me a jump a few times. Nice storyline and good ending.

Haven't been watching any movie at all for awhile x_x;;

Agreed. Most horror movies lately are so cliche or make me laugh more than anything. It's like...was this supposed to be a comedy? Am I watching the spoof version?

Unfortunately, I'm not really all that into horror movies myself so I haven't seen too many of the more recent ones...it's an older movie (done in the 1980's, I believe), but one of the only films that comes to mind at the moment is The Changeling. It's supposedly based off of a true ghost story...and there were a few parts, especially in the middle, that were rather scary to me (but more in a psychological sense than a "gory/violent" way). Rather interesting movie, all in all. :)

I actually have seen 'The Changeling' - though I think I would classify that under drama instead of horror. Very good film though. <3

If you're into zombie movies I highly recommend seeing Diary of the Dead by George A. Romero (Did Night of the Living Dead, my absolute favorite zombie movie, and Dawn of the Dead). It's sort of creepy and has its moments that can make you jump but not some amazing horror movie. But it's a pretty darn amazing zombie movie just for the simplicity of it all.

Other than that... the Masters of Horror stuff is full of hits and misses but always worth checking out. One movie that I always remember freaking me out, despite how short it is, is The Fair Haired Child. The movements and noise it makes will just creep you out. And it's all natural too, that actor's crazy.

There was another one that I can't remember the title of that's like the biography of a serial killer. It's more funny but it still has that creepy factor because of the pure and simple fact that you know from the start the guy's a killer. I just can't remember the title for the life of me because it was obscure and didn't make you think it was going to be about that... ><

Oh, and though it's a pretty old movie Thir13en Ghosts was always pretty good to me. It's laughable now but it freaked me out as a kid I had to step out of the theatre. XD
